Theatre students SIGN UP to play online during one specific slot throughout the three-day session. Any teenage drama student from grades 9 to 12 can participate. Each 4-hour period of time has five open slots for volunteers. Once you sign up, we will contact you with more info!
DO I HAVE TO ROLEPLAY?
Roleplaying D&D is not about doing funny voices for a character for 4 hours straight. It’s about pretending, imagination, trying something new, and making friends. Be yourself and have fun!
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY?
We have two key goals! One, join together to help raise money and awareness for actors/tech out of work on Broadway. Two, have fun doing it! Our Game Masters (GMs) will help you learn as you play. In fact, most people playing will be playing for the first time! No judgment!
GAME MASTERS
We have already selected a handful of Game Masters (GMs) to run each block of the campaign on Roll20. The GM assigned to your session will email you before June 18th with specific instructions. If you are interested in being a GM, please send us an email :).
TWITCH STREAM
Each block of time will have a technician attached to help make sure the Twitch stream remains active, donations are verified, people are getting shout outs and heals when viewers donate. Techs will record the twitch stream. We will boot any viewers/players that use vulgar or inappropriate language. Each session will also be recorded for backup/posting on YouTube after the event is completed.
D&D PLATFORM
We will be using Roll20 to manage the game sessions. Every volunteer will have to create a free Roll20 account and register with the game before they can participate.
CHARACTER PROGRESSION
When one block session ends, the game will enter a 10-minute exchange where the student finishing their block briefs the incoming students about the story so far and details about their character. The new student then begins their session, taking over that character.
CAN I STILL PLAY EVEN IF IM NOT AN ACTOR OR TECH?
Yes! We would love to have you. The only requirements to sign up are a love of theatre.
